The Parliament of Montenegro today approved a proposal to amend the country's Constitution, which removes the immunity of members of the Government for criminal offenses related to corruption.
Prime Minister Milojko Spajić wrote on the X network that from today, members of the government are equal to all citizens in terms of responsibility for corruption crimes.
"With the approval of the Proposal for Amendments to the Constitution, a political position can no longer be a protection from criminal liability," Spajić wrote.
He said that by doing so, Montenegro is taking an important step towards a system in which no one, regardless of the function they hold, is above the law, quotes " Vijesti ".
