Prime Minister Edi Rama has reacted to reports of the blocking of around 200 social media accounts of people who covered the protest. In a post on "X", Rama attacked the European Democrats group, who said that the government must provide answers regarding the closure of social media profiles.
In his post, Rama refers to them as "agitators," who according to him have published a shameful insinuation. The Prime Minister denies that his government has any hand in the deactivation and restriction of social media accounts, claiming that they do not even have the capacity to carry out such an operation.
"How can these agitators call themselves Democrats while publishing such a shameless visual innuendo? I have lived with the blame and shame games of my opponents for as long as I have been in politics."
But when this low form of propaganda comes from people who parade as European democrats, it is truly unfortunate. What if all this trickery comes from the same malicious sources that instigated the so-called “Flamingo Revolution,” many of whom also instigated the chaos in Ceuta?
Why? Simple: to give life to a “revolution” that has already died out. Doesn't that make sense? Of course it does. But apparently not just for these nominal democrats.
So, let me be absolutely clear: we have nothing to do with deactivating or limiting any social media accounts, nor do we have the technical ability to carry out an operation of this kind. Shame on this whole bunch of failures who spread such nonsense????" - writes Rama.
"And to anyone who speaks Albanian and spreads the next dose of poison through social channels, this time about this sophisticated censorship of profiles, I say that if this is true, not only my dictatorial regime that has not banned any kind of protest and has faced with a smile all the rivers of insults with a house book under the window, has no connection in this, but moreover, neither this country nor the vast majority of countries on this planet have any capacity to do such a thing," Rama writes in "X".
