Police have seized a "Range Rover" vehicle in Fier after a pursuit in the Vlora area, as part of the investigation into the collision that occurred today between businessmen Vasil Bedinaj and Luan Muça.
The car was stopped at around 13:00, at the Memorial Overpass by the Fier Police. It was driven by Kosovar citizen Blerim Heta, 40 years old.
The vehicle had damage to the passenger side window, suspected to have been caused by gunfire. Three pistol cartridges were also found inside.
Another Range Rover did not obey the police order to stop at the checkpoint in the Alikoka District. The car continued moving towards Peshkëpi, but during the pursuit, in the area of the Peshkëpi Bridge, it went off the road and crashed into the protective barriers.
In the vehicle were Luan Muça, 55 years old, as the driver, and the brothers Klaudio Lleshaj, 29 years old, and Mandrit Lleshaj, 33 years old, employees of SH.PSF “Swat Security”. Due to the accident, Muça and Mandrit Lleshaj were injured and were taken to the Vlora Regional Hospital, where their lives are out of danger.
During the search of the vehicle, officers found a pistol and a magazine with 16 live ammunition, which were seized as material evidence.
Another episode was recorded at around 16:30, on the Vlora bypass, near the village of Kaninë, where an “Audi A8” was engulfed in flames. According to the Police, the vehicle is suspected to have been used by people involved in the incident.
Preliminary investigations suspect that Luan Muça, along with other people, went to the hotel owned by businessman Vasil Bedinaj, where, under threat of weapons and physical violence, they demanded 5 million euros. Bedinaj was also allegedly threatened that he had to leave Albania within 48 hours.
Following the collision, Angjelo Breshani is suspected of taking the weapon that Bedinaj possessed with permission and shooting at the vehicles of other people in the area.
At the end of the actions, the Police arrested five people: Luan Muçë, 55 years old; Klaudio Lleshaj, 29 years old; Mandrit Lleshaj, 33 years old; Blerim Heta, 40 years old, a Kosovar citizen; and Angjelo Breshani, 29 years old.
Additionally, 6 other people and four vehicles are wanted. Investigations continue to fully document the incident and determine the responsibilities of each person involved. ©LAPSI.al
