Abdixhiku speaks after meeting with Kurti: 6 LDK MPs are leading the country

The leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Lumir Abdixhiku, spoke after the meeting he held with the acting Prime Minister, Albin Kurti.

He said that he informed Kurti about the latest developments in his party, after 6 LDK MPs did not support Bekim Sejdiu's candidacy for president of the country.

"Regular notification after developments in both parties. As order requires, when we have discussion processes, we must officially notify each other about party developments. And, that's what I did. What happened yesterday, I notified him and he informed me about developments in the leadership of the VV and the Parliamentary Group," Abdixhiku said.

He has not commented much on the decision of 6 LDK MPs not to support Sjedi's candidacy.

"Now you have to ask those who decided to send Kosovo into an uncertain situation," Abdixhiku said.

Asked whether they will discuss with the Alliance regarding the six-point plan, Abdixhiku said that unless they participate in resolving the political impasse, the country will head to early elections.

"This is not my business. I have tried to find a solution, so they are doing well to help in the solution. But as long as they distance themselves and do not participate in the solution, then they themselves cause early elections. This is not how the solution is made. The political battle for the Government should be done for the Government in the Kosovo Assembly, the issue of the president should be resolved by electing a president, we should behave normally," he said.

Meanwhile, regarding whether the possibility of an agreement with the Alliance was discussed, Abdixhiku said that he was not part of the discussions.

"No, it was not part of the discussions, but every party is welcome. Unfortunately, from what I see, we are creating a numerical impossibility in the Kosovo Assembly," Abdixhiku said. /Ekonomia Online

A decisive moment for Albania

It is the first time that Albanians feel they can shape the national debate without waiting for political parties to take the lead. Experience teaches us that democracy depends not only on elections, but also on active citizenship among them.

Greece lowers food prices, Rama: We will not intervene, the "system" does not allow us

The Greek government has reduced the prices of more than 1,700 products through an agreement with industry, suppliers and supermarkets; on the other hand, the Albanian government says it cannot intervene in prices because the "system" forbids it and promises only "transparency", at a time when Albanians are paying more for food than the European Union average and with price increases much higher than their neighbors.
