Former US envoy for the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Richard Grenell, continues to keep an eye on developments in Pristina. In the last 24 hours, he has commented on social media about what is happening following the split in the LDK over the name of the new President of Kosovo.
In a reaction on X, Grenell sided with the 6 LDK MPs who did not accept Bekim Sejdiu's name for President according to the Kurti Abdixhiku agreement.
Grenell published a photo of Avdullah Hoti, Hykmete Bajrami, Arben Gashi, Armend Zemaj, Kujtim Shala and Janina Ymer, describing them as "great friends of America."
"My friend Avdullah Hoti and his colleagues are great friends of America," Grenell wrote.

A few hours later, he made another comment indirectly accusing Kurti of violating the Constitution.
"Who in Kosovo is defending their Constitution? The Constitution is clear: The Assembly must be constituted within 30 days of the certification of the election results. It is the 50th day," Grenell wrote.

The Constitution is clear: the Assembly must be constituted within 30 days of the certification of election results.
It's day 50.
Just a few weeks ago, Grenell attributed responsibility for the political crisis in the country to Kurti, stating that the incumbent prime minister "does not know how to govern" and that he has failed in the fight against corruption.
In the same statement, Grenell also spoke about former President Hashim Thaçi, saying that the West wants to see him free and returned to Kosovo to contribute to the country's leadership. ©LAPSI.al
