US dollar with Donald Trump's face goes into circulation

A commemorative $1 coin featuring Donald Trump has gone on sale. It was minted as part of celebrations for the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States.

Those interested can purchase the coins in packs of 25 or 100 pieces, which cost $61 and $154, respectively.

On one side, the coin features an eagle, the symbol of the United States. On the other side, Trump's portrait is featured, an image that is strongly reminiscent of his official portrait, which was inspired by a photo taken by police as part of the investigation launched in Georgia into charges related to his alleged interference in the 2020 election.

“As we approach our 250th anniversary (of independence), we are designing coins that symbolize the spirit of our country and our democracy,” said U.S. Treasury Secretary Brandon Rich. “There is no more iconic portrait for these coins than that of President Donald Trump,” he added. ©LAPSI.al
