Teun Koopmeiners' evening was quite emotional. A giant banner dedicated to him and his brother Peer, who plays for AZ, the duels on the pitch and the goal scored right there in that stadium and in front of those fans who saw him assert himself in football, are priceless. Inevitably, for the Juventus midfielder, tonight was not a match like all the others, so much so that on the eve of this challenge he had explained that the family had requested about 40 tickets to go to the stadium. At the end of the match won by Juventus, Koopmeiners was interviewed by Sky Sport and finally seemed calm and smiling, also telling an entertaining anecdote related to his father.
His name is Remco Koopmeiners and he is a sports psychologist, in addition to being a professor of physical education at the Hogeschool in Amsterdam. In the studio they ask him about his father's profession: "Did he give you any advice?". Koop answers with a smile: "He only has one problem, because he can't work with us, because he gets very nervous when he sees us playing, imagine tonight with his two sons on the field". And he concludes: "I believe he drove away after twenty minutes".

Koopmeiners' father has always been very present in the footballing lives of Teun and Peer, so much so that today he can't handle the tension before a match in which one of them plays. That's why the Juventus midfielder explained that he had imagined a possible reaction of his father when he saw his two sons competing on the pitch. Koopmeiners has undoubtedly experienced a special evening in the black and white shirt, facing as an opponent the team that shaped him as a footballer. AZ and its fans have in fact shown him deep gratitude and no resentment.
Teun Koopmeiners, before being bought by Atalanta in 2021, had been the protagonist of an extraordinary rise at his club, recording a total of 154 appearances, 43 goals and 17 assists. Extraordinary figures for a footballer who then immediately established himself in Italy with the Bergamo team, winning a Europa League and recording 29 goals and 15 assists in 129 appearances. However, AZ remains in the heart of the Dutch footballer, who of course did not celebrate after scoring the classic goal against his former team, but was honored in the best way by his fans, who showed that they had never forgotten him.
