A Porter Airlines flight to Canada was canceled last week when a toddler refused to sit in his seat and buckle up. The flight was forced to return to the terminal and was delayed long enough to exceed runway closure times.
The Toronto-based airline said Sunday that both the parent and the crew tried several times to secure the child in his seat, but were unsuccessful. The plane returned to the terminal at Victoria International Airport in British Columbia for the parent and child to disembark.
But the process of removing the parent and child, as well as their luggage, caused an additional delay to the flight to Toronto. As a result, the flight missed the scheduled runway closure at 00:30 on Thursday and was canceled, while the remaining passengers were forced to disembark.
