The dinner hosted by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his wife for NATO leaders has just ended. The ceremony was also attended by Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, who was left in a corner of the family photo unlike other times when the alphabetical order of delegations was applied.
In June 2025, at the Hague summit, Rama was in the front row, because of the name Albania, as can be seen from the photo below.
Even in July 2023, when Joe Biden was at the head of the White House, Rama was again at the forefront of the picture.
Media reports say the dishes served to NATO leaders at the Presidential Palace by Recep Tayyip Erdogan were prepared with local Turkish ingredients.
The menu presented to the leaders included the following appetizers:
- Traditional pie baked in a stone oven, with Trebizond butter and pure honeycomb honey from Hizani.
- Seasonal vegetables fried with olive oil, accompanied by smoked Denizli yogurt.
The warm appetizer was:
- Manti (traditional handmade pasta with minced meat) from Kayseri, with Denizli yogurt and smoked pepper paste from Aias.
For the main course, there were two choices:
- Sea bass fillet with tarama, Urla Sakız artichokes and Tokat vine leaves.
- Slow-roasted beef ribs with burnt Trebizond butter, smoked eggplant, and roasted green wheat pilaf (firik) with morel mushrooms.
The dessert for the leaders was:
- Sütlü Nuriye, a traditional dessert similar to baklava but with a lighter cream, served with Gaziantep pistachio foam, Kahramanmaraş ice cream and bergamot flavor. ©LAPSI.al
