A shocking development has come to light regarding French footballer Kylian Mbappe, after a dangerous gang was planning to kidnap dozens of businessmen and famous personalities from the world of music and sports, including the French Real Madrid superstar.
Le Parisien newspaper reports that the mastermind of the gang is an 18-year-old identified as Clément L., who is in custody for previous crimes. His gang is behind a series of home invasions and the organization of a series of kidnapping plots that took place or were being planned between April 11 and August 19.
On August 21, authorities opened an investigation against the young man and an accomplice. Clément L. was detained and placed in solitary confinement, while his suspected accomplice was released under judicial supervision.
It all started on the morning of April 25 in Neuilly-sur-Seine, when three people posing as delivery men showed up at the door of a watchmaker's residence in Paris with an empty box. The shopkeeper suspected a trap and did not open the door. The three fled, leaving the box there.
A few days later, on May 4, the watchmaker's shop was robbed. Two men armed with pistols entered the shop at around 2:45 p.m., pushed the owner and grabbed 11 luxury watches worth 150,000 euros, and fled on a scooter. However, half an hour later a suspect was arrested in the Asnières-sur-Seine area after he crashed into a truck.
Investigators found fingerprints on the empty package while the robbers' car was found driving on the ring road with fake license plates that corresponded to a real one. The investigation led to the discovery of two names. One of them was that of Clément L. He had already been arrested for a case of rape and prostitution, as well as for another case of theft by an organized gang.
From his cell, the young man allegedly gave orders via Snapchat using the nickname "Lester Z". As French media reports, prison officers seized two mobile phones used by the 18-year-old. On them, police found 26 addresses of singers, footballers and businessmen. They all have one thing in common, they are rich. Among them was a Chinese wholesaler, jewelers, as well as a Turkish millionaire wholesaler of meat. The address that stood out was that of the 27-year-old footballer and Real Madrid star, Kylian Mbappe.
Clément L. is of Franco-Swiss origin. His criminal record includes two convictions for drug-related offenses and one for robbery with violence. His father lives in Seine-et-Marne and his mother in Ireland. He had left school while attending the first year of vocational cooking school. As for the future, he aspires to continue his studies and become a chef.
During interrogation, the young man confessed. He claims that he is not the brains of the gang and that he is simply an intermediary between a mysterious leader and other members who take action. "I know that the facts are serious," he told the court. "But I am in isolation, surrounded by madmen and terrorists, and I don't think that will make me better. I really want to be a chef, it has been a dream of mine since I was little," he adds. The investigative court decided to keep him in prison, cut off from the outside world. ©LAPSI.al
