
A Bank of America vice president was stabbed to death in Times Square, New York, in a random and unprovoked attack. The victim has been identified as Erin Piacenti, 32. A 68-year-old man was also injured in the attack and is in stable condition.
According to the New York Police Department, the suspected perpetrator was Pamela Cisneros, 49. After the attack, she confronted officers while holding two knives and was shot and killed by police.
NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch said there was no indication that the victims and the shooter knew each other. Bank of America confirmed the death of its employee, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the loss. Police are continuing their investigation to determine the motive and circumstances of the attack.
