27 people were stranded for more than two hours at an amusement park in Suffolk, Britain. They were trapped about 15 meters above the ground after a malfunction on the "Wipeout" roller coaster.
The incident occurred shortly before 1:30 p.m. on Monday, and the fire service and police attended the scene.
The passengers were not trapped upside down, but remained for a long time in the structure, at a great height, waiting for the rescue operation to be completed.
Crews from three fire stations rushed to the scene, using specialist equipment to safely remove passengers. Images released show passengers trapped in their seats.
Wipeout underwent a £1 million refurbishment in 2024 - 2025. The work included the installation of a new train with waist-supporting seat belts to improve passenger comfort and safety.
This isn't the first time the train has had problems. In 2017, firefighters had to extricate an injured person when Wipeout stopped working after a torrential downpour, leaving passengers stranded at its highest point.
