
A video that has been published in online media has captured the dramatic moments inside the "Filo Jet" ship, shortly before the catamaran capsized and sank off the coast of Kyrenia, Turkish Cyprus.
Footage shows passengers trying to abandon the ship as water begins to pour in. Some of them have already donned life jackets, while others are rushing to find a way out.
The images captured the prevailing panic, with voices heard as the situation inside the catamaran worsened.

The ship "Filo Jet" had departed from Kyrenia to the port of Tasuj, in Mersin, Turkey, when it began taking on water a few miles off the coast. According to reports, the captain tried to return the ship to port, but failed.
The captain and seven crew members have been arrested, local authorities announced. The latest official report on the tragedy reports 8 dead and 17 missing, while 242 people have been rescued.
According to authorities, there were a total of 267 people on board the ship (259 passengers and 8 crew members). Search and rescue operations to find those still missing are continuing with all available means. Investigations have already begun to determine the causes of the shipwreck. ©LAPSI.al
