Two new photos of Nicolas Maduro from his detention in the United States were published on Sunday on his official X account, accompanied by a message to his family and supporters.
In the images, which are dated June 25, 2026, the former Venezuelan president appears in a gray hoodie and tracksuit, in front of a wall. He smiles for the camera and in one of the photos makes a victory sign with two fingers.
The photos are presented in the post as a "small gift of love and hope" for grandchildren, children and those who continue to support Maduro.
Messages accompanying the images say that Maduro and his wife, Celia Flores, remain "unwavering," despite their detention in the US.

"I want you to know that we remain steadfast, with hearts full of your love," he says in the message, thanking supporters for their prayers, solidarity and support.
The post also references a passage from the Letter to the Romans ("in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us"), while the message closes with the phrase: "God will provide. Venezuela will be reborn."
Maduro and his wife are being held at the Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Center in New York, following their arrest by US forces in Caracas on January 3, 2026.
The former president of Venezuela is facing serious federal charges in the US, including conspiracy to commit narcoterrorism, conspiracy to import cocaine, and weapons-related offenses.
Both he and Flores have pleaded not guilty and their trial is scheduled to begin in June 2027. The new post is one of the rare public images of Maduro since his arrest and transfer to the United States. ©LAPSI.al
