The French media continues to pay attention to the castle of Albanian businessman Ermal Beqiri in the Oise region. Purchased for 2.6 million euros according to SPAK, a seizure request has been made for it. The weekly newspaper " Oise Hebdo " reports that the court has imposed a fine of 7 thousand euros on the Albanian businessman for flying a plane over the Penly nuclear power plant in Seine-Maritime.
Beqiri is in prison due to Albania's extradition request in connection with the AKSHI tenders case. Albania has also requested the seizure of his assets in France, including the castle in question.
“This magnificent red-brick castle, located outside the village of Berneuil-en-Bray, has been offering “exceptional” bed and breakfast accommodations for several years. According to its website, the establishment is run by the Darondeau-de La Pintière couple, who bought the property in 2003 and devoted years to its restoration.”
"No connection to Ermal Beqiri is mentioned. His name is only found in the legal notices of the website. All the property appears to belong to him, a fact confirmed by the new mayor, Simon Muller," the newspaper writes.
“When we contacted the castle by phone, the name of the person in question was not well received. A very pleasant woman answered. But when the reason for the call was explained to her, she politely replied: "I can't answer you." Even when asked simply to confirm whether Ermal Beqiri was the owner of the castle she said: "I'm sorry, I can't answer you, have a good evening," she repeated.
In the village, there seems to be very little connection between the castle owner and the rest of the community.
Mayor Simon Muller, who has been in office since March, believes he has only met him once, completely by chance. Therefore, at the moment, it is difficult to say whether the possible seizure of this "criminally derived asset" will have consequences for the village,” the article says. ©LAPSI.al
