Nearly 20 people are still missing after a ferry capsized off the coast of northern Cyprus, killing eight people, as divers join search teams searching deep waters for any survivors.
The ferry with 267 people on board capsized on Sunday near the port city of Kyrenia, leaving survivors clinging to the overturned hull. They were rescued by passing ships and members of the coast guard.
The ferry encountered problems shortly after departing from Kyrenia for the Turkish port of Taşucu in Mersin province, one of several daily sea connections between northern Cyprus and Turkey.
Authorities have detained the ship's captain and crew for questioning.
