
A speedboat with eight people on board risked sinking in the Spille area after it suffered an engine failure and filled with water.
According to the police, they were all members of one family, and the driver of the boat had all the necessary documentation.
Police announcement:
During the monitoring of the maritime space in the Spille area, after receiving a report that a vessel was seeking assistance, about 1 mile from the coast, in the direction of Forsiluk, the Border Police and the Maritime Police Unit services reacted immediately, finding a speedboat-type vessel, carrying 8 citizens, which had suffered an engine failure, was filled with water and was in danger of sinking.
The Police Services provided the necessary assistance to the boat driver and his 7 family members, towing the boat and bringing it to shore, in Karpen. All 8 citizens on board were in good health and thanked the Police Services for the assistance provided. The verifications carried out showed that the boat had proper documentation, while the driver had a driving license.
