The Ministry of Defense has announced that the fire situation in the country remains under continuous monitoring, with 7 of the 20 reported fires still active and 3 others under surveillance.
The ministry reports that the main active hot spots are concentrated in the districts of Tirana, Dibër, Korçë and Durrës, where hundreds of operational forces, military personnel and two Air Force helicopters have been deployed to combat the flames.
Despite the difficult terrain in certain mountainous areas, Civil Protection structures remain on full alert and so far there are no reports of inhabited areas being at risk.
"According to operational information dated 30.08.2026, 20:00, a total of 20 fires have been reported in the country's territory, of which 7 remain active and 3 are under surveillance.
A total of 284 operational forces and 33 firefighting vehicles have been engaged to deal with the situation, while the Armed Forces have supported the operations with 80 personnel and 2 Air Force helicopters.
The main active foci are concentrated in Tirana, Dibër, Korçë and Durrës.
In the Dajti area, towards Qafë-Priskë, work continues with 15 firefighters, 9 AdZM forces and 20 military personnel, supported by a helicopter.
In the Dibër region, the situation is the most intense: 38 MZSH forces and 30 AF personnel have been deployed in Vajkal, while 91 forces have been deployed in Sllatinë; the hot spots in Lundre i Mati, where an AF helicopter intervened, and in Ballenjë i Martanesh, in a protected area, also remain active.
In Qafë e Lugut, Vithkuq, the fire in the forest area will be monitored at night due to the difficult terrain and the impossibility of intervention in the late hours.
In Zalla, Fushë-Krujë, the reactivated hotbed has been brought under control after the engagement of the MZSH, municipal forces and 30 members of the Armed Forces. No residential areas are reported to be at risk.
Meanwhile, the fires on Mount Dardha and Mount Qukës are being kept under surveillance, while the fires in Strikçan and Nivicë were completely extinguished during the day.
The National Civil Protection Agency (AKMC) continues to continuously monitor the situation throughout the country, in close coordination with prefectures, municipalities and all structures of the Civil Protection system.
"Operational capacities remain engaged in the field and ready to intervene where the situation requires, with priority given to protecting the lives, homes and property of citizens ," the Ministry announced. /LAPSI.al
