A critical situation has been created this afternoon in the area between the villages of Xhyrë and Vehçan, in the Hotolisht Administrative Unit, Librazhd Municipality, where a large-scale fire has engulfed a forest massif of acacias and shrubs.
The fire, which started at noon, has spread rapidly in several directions, covering a considerable area. The terrain and dry vegetation have favored the spread of the flames, while the situation became particularly worrying after 17:00, when the fire approached the homes in the area of the former Xhyra railway station and near the Librazhd-Përrenjas national road.
Given the size of the fire and the danger to residential areas, dozens of firefighting vehicles and MZSH service forces from Librazhd, Përrenjas, Elbasan, Gramsh and Cërriku have been mobilized to the field.
Firefighters are working to contain the flames and protect homes and buildings near the area affected by the fire.
The situation remains dynamic and under monitoring, while the spread of flames in the forest massif makes it difficult for teams on the ground to intervene.
Authorities continue to be engaged in the operation to isolate the hotbeds and avoid any danger to residents of the area.
