Greek media have published footage of the moment a "Bell 206" helicopter crashed near the Sifnos heliport, causing the instant death of 3 people on board.
The victims are the Greek pilot and a newlywed British couple who were traveling to the island.
Eyewitnesses reported a strange noise and smoke coming from the helicopter shortly before it crashed. Authorities are investigating the cause of the tragedy. It is suspected that a defect in the helicopter's tail rotor was the cause.
The couple had chosen to travel to Sifnos for their honeymoon, had booked a room for their stay on the island, and had chosen to travel by helicopter to make this first trip as a married couple even more special.
