
New footage has been released of the fire that engulfed the "Brooklyn" hotel on the Lungomare in Vlora in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The published footage shows the moment when flames engulfed the lower part of the building, while smoke covered the upper floors.
People are seen on the street who have left the hotel, while some of the vacationers have been forced to exit their balconies to escape the fire.
The incident occurred at around 04:05. According to the Vlora Police, 6 vacationers were injured, 5 of them Kosovo citizens and one from Rrëshen.
Five injured people have been sent for specialized treatment in Tirana, while another is being treated at the Vlora Regional Hospital. Two of the injured have suffered significant burns.
A vacationer from Kosovo confessed that after seeing the smoke and flames, he was forced to jump from his balcony to escape.
According to preliminary police investigations, the fire is suspected to have been accidental and was caused by a burning electrical outlet in a refrigerator in the restaurant premises. /LAPSI.al
