Erling Haaland shocked the football world by cutting his blonde hair off on Saturday. The 26-year-old Manchester City forward had become synonymous with his long, thick locks during his four years in the Premier League.
However, ahead of the new season, Haaland decided to get a dramatic haircut. After making the shocking cut, the Norwegian called up some of his famous friends to get their direct reaction.
First, Haaland video-called Oasis star Noel Gallagher, who is a huge Manchester City fan. The 59-year-old musician said: "No way mate! When did you do this? You look like you're about 17! That's good mate, change is good!"
Haaland then called City teammate Jack Grealish. Laughing, he said: "You look like you're about 10 years old! Oh my God... that's hilarious! In fact, I swear I can't stop looking at the front of your head. I love it. See you later brother."
Haaland then dared to call Zlatan Ibrahimovic, another striker who kept his hair long for most of his career. Without thinking, the Swede asked: "What the hell did you do? Oh my God, what the hell is this? Did you lose a bet or not? Oh my God, block and delete my number! My wife says you're crazy. To be honest with you, I'm always honest. You'll be faster now, right?"
Haaland then called his father, Alf-Inge, who joked: "At least you look like me again, right?"
Next up was former City manager Pep Guardiola, who replied from his bed: "No way! You're lucky you have hair! I wish I had it!" Asked if he was watching football, Pep added: "I'm reading a bit and watching the Brentford-Tottenham game."
Asked further if he likes Haaland's new hairstyle, Guardiola said: "Yes, it's okay. Listen, if you don't like it, it will grow out. So don't worry. I love you!"
