European Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kos, met in Brussels with representatives of the "Student List", which won the last parliamentary elections in Serbia, offering the European Union's support for the implementation of democratic and institutional reforms.
The meeting was held at the invitation of the European Commissioner, and was attended by a four-member delegation representing the "Student List".
This is the first high-level meeting between this political movement and European Union officials after the electoral victory on October 25.
On Wednesday, during a speech before members of the European Parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee, Kos confirmed that he had spoken with representatives of the "Student List", emphasizing that Serbia now has the opportunity for a new beginning and for strengthening its democratic institutions.
According to her, the new government in Serbia has the potential to improve the protection of fundamental rights and take the necessary steps to advance the country's membership process in the European Union.
"Serbia has an opportunity for a new beginning," Kos declared.
