The hearing at the Special Court has been postponed for the request of the former Prosecutor General, Adriatik Llalla, who is requesting the statute of limitations for the two-year prison sentence for concealing assets. The next hearing is scheduled for November 16, at 08:30. According to sources, during today's hearing, the Special Prosecutor of SPAK, Enkelejda Millonai, after hearing the submissions, requested time to familiarize herself with the materials referred to in this process. For this reason, the court decided to postpone the consideration of the request.
Llalla requests that the sentence given to him in 2021, by a final decision, be considered statute-barred. His argument is related to the fact that nearly five years have passed since the decision, without him having served the two-year prison sentence. The former head of the General Prosecutor's Office was not present at the hearing, while he was represented by his lawyer in the process. Llalla continues to be wanted by the Albanian authorities. During the investigation against him, Llalla fled to Italy, where he was arrested and then left under surveillance measures, without being handed over to the Albanian authorities. Meanwhile, the criminal process against him continued in Albania.
