José Mourinho returns to Real Madrid and moves into the same residence where he lived during his first experience at “Los Blancos”. The “Special One” has chosen a “quiet” and comfortable solution, especially in terms of area. Less so in terms of costs. Yes, because Mou has once again chosen the residential neighborhood of La Finca to start his new experience at “Los Blancos”. It is a private complex in one of the safest areas of Madrid, where the Portuguese coach’s supervilla is also located. It is a property with 1,400 square meters of habitable area and a full 5,000 square meters of outdoor space.
Maximum comfort and spacious rooms with high ceilings and large windows make the house a real gem. But what surprises you is not so much the characteristics of Mou's apartment, more or less in line with all the luxurious homes of coaches and footballers of this level, but the costs. Mourinho did not buy this house, but rented it for a sum of 20 thousand euros per month. Suffice it to think that during his previous experience in Spain he had spent almost a million euros on rent.
Mourinho's choice to often live in a rented house without buying a house
A choice in line with Mourinho's character, who tends not to create such connections in the cities where he manages. The coach often decides to live in a rental, without having to buy a property. In Rome, for example, he lived in an apartment inside a villa owned by Alberto Aquilani, the former Roma footballer and today Sassuolo coach, which is located in the Parioli district and has views of the Villa Borghese, the Lungotevere and the Etruscan Museum of Villa Giulia. A total of 720 thousand euros in three years
This was the amount spent by Mourinho during the past years at Real Madrid. Practically the same amount has been reserved for Mourinho in this case as well. Of course, it is an opportunity that only very few people can afford, since it is an absolutely exclusive complex. Inside, contemporary architecture prevails, with clean lines and a thoughtful organization to separate the different areas of the house. The size of the apartment allows for the creation of a peaceful environment and the silence so much sought by Mourinho prevails to avoid the pressure that he will inevitably feel in a city like Madrid.
The exterior transforms the residence into a truly private retreat. The property has large gardens, several relaxation areas and a large swimming pool. But if there is one thing that explains Mourinho's choice, it is privacy. La Finca is known for its strict access controls and the exceptional security of its streets. The streets are not public and access is only allowed to residents and authorized personnel: a feature that immediately attracted the Portuguese coach, who chose this residence without delay despite the high rent he has to pay each month.
But why has Mourinho chosen such a solution?
We have to take another important step back to find the answer. Before Roma, even when he was managing Manchester United from 2016 to 2018, the “Special One” spent those years in a suite at the “Lowry Hotel”, explaining that it had all the comforts of home, living in a magnificent apartment. It was not a room. He had reserved it for as long as he wanted, even if he were to be immediately dismissed by the “Red Devils”. Mou does not want such great connections with the cities where he lives when managing a team and for this reason the choice of Madrid is completely in line with his character.
