At least seven people, including two girls aged 5 and 12, were killed in a wave of missile attacks that Russia launched overnight on several Ukrainian cities. The heaviest hit was in Krivyi Rih, the hometown of President Volodymyr Zelensky. A ballistic missile hit a residential building. Six people were killed and at least eight others were injured, as rescuers continue to search through the rubble.
Attacks were also reported in Kiev and Lviv, causing extensive damage and leaving several people stranded. As a precaution, Poland scrambled fighter jets to monitor its airspace. The bombings came just a day after Zelensky met with US President Donald Trump at the White House, to whom he asked for additional air defense systems.
