US President Donald Trump has said he is considering a major attack on Iran, warning of an operation that he said would be more powerful than any previous action.
In an interview with Axios, Trump said he is close to making a final decision. “I am considering a massive attack on Iran. Bigger than any other. I am close to making a decision. We are ready.”
The US president acknowledged that such a decision would have consequences, but stressed that the United States is prepared for any scenario.
Asked if Israel would join a possible military operation, Trump said: "If I asked them to, Israel would join in two minutes."
However, he added that Washington does not need anyone's help to launch a new operation.
Trump also reiterated that Iran is interested in negotiations, but according to him, it is not yet ready to reach a deal.
"They want to negotiate, but they're not ready for a deal yet. They haven't suffered enough yet," the US president concluded.
