An unusual incident has occurred in a village in India, where residents, angry about poor 5G coverage, are said to have tied up a technician sent to fix the problem. The worker, who local media has identified as Aditya Ban Singh, was found tied to a mobile phone mast in Hardauli village, in Fatehpur district of Uttar Pradesh state.
Police said the technician was attacked due to ongoing internet connectivity problems, as residents were forced to use an unstable 4G network despite paying for 5G services for more than 2 years.
Residents were outraged by the situation, claiming that despite their repeated complaints, almost nothing had been done to improve the signal in the area. According to local media, when Singh arrived in the village to try to resolve the problem, residents surrounded him and protested in an unusual way about the functioning of the telecommunications antenna, connecting it with cables.

They even reportedly threatened to not release him until the mobile phone company executives resolved the issue. However, the technician was released shortly after. Since then, according to the same reports, five people have been charged with unlawful detention and public order offences. The case reached the police after a video showing Singh tied up went viral on the internet.
