Ukraine attacked a warehouse belonging to Russian electronics giant Ozon for the second day in a row today. The attack came after it announced the launch of an expanded campaign against Russian logistics infrastructure.
A fire broke out and more than 300 employees were evacuated from the logistics center of Ozon, Russia's second-largest e-commerce company. The attack took place in the Orenburg region, in the central part of the country. The Ukrainian drone attack was confirmed by the company itself in a statement to the media.
A day earlier, Ukrainian forces struck a warehouse of the company in the neighboring Samara province, injuring several people, according to Ozon. Kiev has been targeting warehouses of Wildberries, the country's largest electronics company, for months, claiming it supplies components to the Russian military.
"After Ukrainian units struck 15 of Wildberries' largest logistics centers, now it's Ozon's turn," the Ukrainian Defense Ministry announced in a Telegram post yesterday. Wildberries and Ozon are often compared to Amazon for their dominance in this sector in Russia.
Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday expressed his support for Wildberries and announced that the government would take steps to rebuild warehouses destroyed by Ukrainian drone attacks.
Moscow has condemned the attacks on “its infrastructure.” They come more than 4 years after the start of its large-scale offensive in Ukraine, which has killed tens of thousands of people and destroyed entire cities. ©LAPSI.al
