The search continues to find 66-year-old Spanish businessman Juan José Mutilba, who has been missing since last Tuesday after falling from a sailboat in the Ionian Sea.
According to information, the search is focused on a maritime area approximately 120 nautical miles from the Italian coast, where the "last trace" of the sailing ship's passage before the businessman fell into the sea was recorded.
The operation involved forces from the Italian Coast Guard and the Spanish Coast Guard, as well as a Frontex ship. Despite the large mobilization, no trace of the 66-year-old businessman from Burgos has been found so far.
On Tuesday afternoon, his family members met with representatives of the Spanish Consulate General in Rome to be informed about the progress of the investigations.
Meanwhile, his 67-year-old wife has returned to Spain with one of her sons. The woman is said to be in a particularly difficult psychological state and is said to be being monitored by specialists.
The competent authorities are investigating the circumstances in which the businessman disappeared. The woman's statement is said to have not fully clarified what happened, while information is being sought from other family members.
At the center of the investigation is the chronology of the actions that followed the 66-year-old's fall into the sea, without any official conclusion or assigned responsibility being announced so far. ©LAPSI.al
