NATO has sent a message to Tehran that it is ready to defend any of its member states against any threat.
The reaction comes after reports that Iran has considered the possibility of striking US military targets on European soil.
The prestigious Financial Times reported that Iranian regime officials have considered possible attacks against US military installations in southern and southeastern Europe if US President Donald Trump escalates the war.
Among the possible targets being considered are, according to the same information, US military infrastructure in Bulgaria and Cyprus.
