Doctors at health centers say that, especially in this last week of August, there has been an influx of patients seeking medical help.
Based on the symptoms they have exhibited, doctors say that they have also clinically encountered suspected cases of COVID, in addition to other viruses that have affected the respiratory tract.
Patients presented with persistent high fever, with the youngest being the most affected, who then transmitted it to their family members. Cases with abdominal pain and vomiting predominated.
"They have manifested ruptures, muscle pain, severe abdominal pain and vomiting," says pediatrician Artenida Bitri to TCH.
High temperatures, where the thermometer has been reading 39-40 degrees Celsius for days on end, have caused adults and children to stay in air-conditioned environments for long periods of time, and similarly, contact with many people during vacations has encouraged the spread of respiratory infections or other viruses.
