Kosovo Customs has detected an attempt to introduce undeclared goods into Kosovo territory, at the Vërmica border crossing. During the inspection of a truck entering from Albania, customs officials found discrepancies between the declared and actual weight of the vehicle. This raised suspicions about the cargo and led to a more detailed inspection.
During the verification, 1,036 pairs of shoes and 2,980 items of clothing were discovered, which were not declared in the customs documentation. According to Kosovo Customs, almost all of the products bore protected trademarks, while the total value of the goods is estimated at around 72,600 euros, excluding customs duties.
Appropriate actions have been taken in the case, while administrative procedures are ongoing. The matter has also been forwarded to the competent authorities for further treatment, in accordance with the legislation in force.
