Serbia is distorting the judicial facts about war crimes in Kosovo and the genocide in Srebrenica.
Natasha Kandic, the founder of the Belgrade-based Humanitarian Rights Fund, in a reaction on X criticized the way Serbian institutions and society deal with the past.
She referred to the statement of the European Union Ambassador to Serbia, Andreas von Beckerath, who had warned that glorifying persons convicted of war crimes contradicts European values.
According to Kandic, the EU representative should also raise concerns about the practice of silence regarding judgments and facts established by international courts.
She assessed that the distortion of the past is particularly pronounced in the case of the genocide in Srebrenica and the victims of the war in Kosovo.
Her reaction comes on the date that marked 6 years since the arrest of former KLA leaders by the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in The Hague.
The founder of the Humanitarian Law Center recalled that this organization possesses an extensive database of victims of the war in Kosovo, which documents their individual fate, regardless of ethnicity.
She assessed that this documentation could serve the War Crimes Prosecution in Serbia, if it has the will to unravel them.
