Edi Rama has reacted for the umpteenth time against what he has labeled as digital terror against businesses, referring to the campaign to target oligarchs associated with him with negative comments. A day earlier he had drafted a long status against `
``THE DIGITAL TERROR BLASTS carried out by the hostage-takers of the flamingo protest, who through 10 thousand specially opened accounts organized and orchestrated an UNHEARD OF CRIMINAL ATTACK on hotels, guesthouses, restaurants, FORCEDLY removing the stars collected from positive customer reviews``.
The Prime Minister did not hesitate to label with monstrous epithets those who, according to him, were behind this attack, taking over the order to the state police to persecute them: ``the logic of the wood and the wood that has given the protest the color of crows and the voice of ravens: We do not want foreign investors, we do not want local businesses, we want ropes, prison, fire - the type of Nazis with helmets and communists with flags around their necks, laro and balo applauded with passion by heartless losers who have fallen from their seats, full of hatred, evil and inconsolable mediocrity.``
In recent days, thousands of citizens have given 1-star ratings or negative comments to a long list of businesses that were known to be close to the government and had benefited from it.
In a statement to the media, the Director General of the State Police, Skënder Hita, warned of criminal prosecution for commenters or those leaving notes.
"I want to make it clear that any person found involved in this illegal activity, regardless of their location, will face the full force of the law,"
Hita said in the statement, emphasizing that participants in this campaign will be prosecuted for market and price manipulation, computer forgery, and defamation.
But if you look at the statements of the prime minister, his media crusaders, or even those of the political police, you get the impression that this is a campaign of black-hearted people against successful businesses, a hybrid war of those who do not want Albanian tourism, a battle of Marxists against capitalism, a call to return us to the old monist system.
This is precisely why what is happening is being manipulated as a violation related to the criminal code, or to Google's reaction to return the high stars and delete the negative comments of businesses affected by this wave.
But in fact, most likely, the story is completely different. This has nothing to do with a war on honest businessmen, nor with the destruction of tourism, nor with the heartless who do not forgive the success of the most virtuous. The essence of what is happening is resentment against a man who shares national wealth with only a few hands. So it is with Rama and the businessmen he keeps standing outside the rules of the market.
Philosophy professor Klementin Mile did not see what was happening as a war on business.
``Review is no longer a consumer assessment, but is transformed into an instrument of political pressure. Reputation becomes a new form of power.
This is where the conflict with the State Police arises. For institutions, the legitimacy to punish stems from law and procedure. For protesters, it stems from civic conscience and the failure of institutions. Therefore, the real battle is not about comments on Google or tourist platforms. The battle is more radical.
WHO HAS THE RIGHT TO PRODUCE JUSTICE IN THE DIGITAL AGE?
Institutions, through law?
"Or citizens, through reputation," he asked on Facebook.
In fact, the flamingos who are on the streets against social injustice are very clear about who they are targeting. They are not "Nazis with guns", driven by greed. They are simply citizens who have realized that they have been robbed, which is why they are demanding the resignation of the chief thief and punishing those who have benefited from him.
