
Ergys Agasi was arrested this Wednesday in the city of Elbasan, after having been wanted for months by the Special Prosecution Office (SPAK) as part of the investigation into the AKSHI file. The news of the arrest was reported this evening.
Agasi is suspected by SPAK of involvement in a scheme to manipulate public procurement procedures at the National Agency for the Information Society (AKSHI).
The Special Prosecution Office accuses Agas, along with businessman Ermal Beqiraj, of involvement in a structured criminal group suspected of manipulating AKSHI tenders, while the investigations also include allegations of use of violence and hostage-taking. Within the framework of this file, SPAK has also carried out seizures of assets of considerable value.
