Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha has described his 10-day suspension from assembly sessions as an exclusion that is contrary to fundamental constitutional principles, due to the language he used in the last session, which the majority described as inciting violence.
In "Çdo Kënd" with Merita Haklaj on A2 CNN, Berisha said that this is the executioner mentality of Prime Minister Edi Rama, who does not tolerate any kind of opposition.
"This is an exception in contradiction with the fundamental principles of the Albanian constitution for my statement which the deputy is free to express in the Assembly. This exception expresses a mentality inherited from Edvin Kristaq Xhelati, who does not tolerate any kind of opposition or media attack. Why did he exclude me when I told them that those deputies who vote for Rama and his laws deserve all the violence, terror and torture that his phalanxes exercise against peaceful students in their revolt?"
Referring to his language in the Assembly, Berisha emphasized that he said it with full awareness and can prove that it is a parliament of crime, which did not exist even during the time of the Albanian People's Party.
"That parliament is a criminal one, in that parliament there are criminals bigger than those in Albanian prisons, like Balla and Rama, who are bigger than all the cartel bosses associated with them. There are criminals in that parliament, and more than those in prison. Since the time of the ALP, there has not been a criminal group with a mandate than there is today. I have said it with the fullest awareness and I can prove to the Albanians what kind of criminals these are." (A2 Television)
