
During his speech, at a meeting with Albanians in New Jersey, Berisha focused on the political situation in Albania and harshly attacked the government of Edi Rama. He accused the Socialist Party of links to crime and claimed that the majority is obstructing justice. Berisha also mentioned the case of former Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku, accusing the majority of not allowing the lifting of her immunity. He also raised concerns about the country's depopulation.
"I give you my word that we will reach the day of Albania's salvation. We will remove Edi Rama from the government," Berisha declared to supporters.
The DP leader also requested the support of the United States, referring to the positions of US Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, on the fight against drug cartels.
"Liberating Albania from the narco-state is a mission. I ask for the help and support of the US in this battle," Berisha said.
During the meeting, he thanked the Albanian-American community and praised the role of the diaspora in the developments of Albania and Kosovo.
