The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has reacted sharply to Prime Minister Edi Rama's statements during an international forum in Italy, where the latter spoke about Albania's integration process into the European Union and the EU's enlargement policy.
Berisha accuses Rama of trying to attribute responsibility for delays in the integration process to Europe, while linking the situation in Albania to his government and what he describes as "drug cartels."
"Friends, present at an international forum in Italy, Edi Rama, who has been discredited to an extreme degree, chose as the motto of his speech "Europe is to blame" for why Albania does not enter the EU as he deceived in 2027.
Even regarding the EU's enlargement policy, he said that they should thank Putin at a time when the policy of integrating the Western Balkans into the EU has been sanctioned in basic EU documents since the Thessaloniki Summit and onwards, many years before the Russian aggression against Ukraine.
In fact, he can thank Putin as much as he wants, but Europe is not to blame, but Padrino and his Lubits who never get enough of stealing from Albanians, the fault lies with him, Ramaduro, who built the first and only narco-state in Europe. His departure is the condition of all conditions for the restoration of the rule of law in Albania and safe advancement" - writes Berisha. /LAPSI.al
