The Washington Post has echoed the chaos caused in Parliament today, where the opposition lit flares during the session, while the majority, on the other hand, interrupted discussions and passed the draft laws directly for a vote.
American media writes that the chaos in the Assembly comes as the government faces student protests, who are demanding Prime Minister Edi Rama resign and have refused to dialogue with him.
"Opposition lawmakers in Albania interrupted a parliamentary session by lighting flares, after weeks of protests against the government. Protests have taken place in Albania and other European countries due to dissatisfaction with fuel prices, schools, public services and housing," the media wrote.
The media writes that Albania is experiencing protests over corruption, scandals involving the government, economic difficulties, the quality of services, and concerns about the future, especially among young people.
