The figures are even more dire considering that the London club had never started a Premier League season with two consecutive defeats since 2011-12. After just 180 minutes, De Zerbit's team still find themselves with zero points and an attack that has remained completely scoreless.
Tottenham, De Zerbi starts very badly
The defeat to Newcastle confirmed the difficulties that had been evident since the first week. Spurs struggled to react after conceding a goal, allowing their opponents to control the game. Newcastle, meanwhile, secured a crucial victory thanks to goals from Anthony Elanga and Yoane Wissa.
Tottenham's departure is therefore a red alert. Expectations were high after the change in the bench and the investments made in the summer, but the pitch has so far given a completely different image. De Zerbi must quickly find a solution to unblock a team that, after two weeks, has still not found either points or goals.
