
The Ministry of Defense has reacted regarding the fire situation in the country.
During the last 24 hours, from 09:00 on August 26 to 09:00 on August 27, 2026, 28 fires have been reported, of which 4 remain active and 3 are under surveillance. A total of 330 operational forces and 35 firefighting vehicles have been engaged in extinguishing operations, while the Armed Forces have supported the operations with 50 personnel and 1 helicopter. Currently, the main attention is in the Dibër District, where two fires remain active.
In Vajkal, Bulqizë, the fire is located on rocky terrain with bushes and junipers. There are 32 forces on the ground: 5 firefighters, 2 civil emergency workers and 25 municipal workers. In Elbasan County, two fires remain active. In Mali i Dardhës, Librazhd, the fire has been isolated and is being kept under control by forces on the ground, with no risk to homes. In Mali i Qukës, Prrenjas, work continues to extinguish the trunks and low vegetation within the perimeter of the fire, also without risk to residential areas. Meanwhile, the fire in Mali i Polis is being kept under surveillance to prevent reactivation.
The situation in Dajti Mountain appears to have improved. The rainfall of the previous day isolated the outbreaks, after the engagement of 38 local operational forces and 50 members of the Armed Forces. The area will continue to be kept under surveillance, in order to avoid any reactivation. The outbreak in Qafë-Muga, Fushë-Arrëz, has also been isolated and monitoring continues.
The National Civil Protection Agency (AKMC) continues to continuously monitor the situation throughout the country, in close coordination with prefectures, municipalities and all structures of the Civil Protection system. Operational capacities remain engaged in the field and ready to intervene where the situation requires, with priority given to the protection of citizens' lives, homes and property.
