The anti-government protest enters its 89th day today. Citizens are expected to return to the square, while after the arrest of Ergys Agas, calls for SPAK have taken an increasingly large place in the rally. The evening before, protesters described Agas's arrest as the "tip of the iceberg". From the podium, the continuation of the investigations, the confiscation of illegal assets and the investigation of other high-ranking officials were demanded. Among the names mentioned by the protesters were Prime Minister Edi Rama and Belinda Balluku.
Today's protest is expected to bring back to the center the political demands articulated for almost three months. Citizens are demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama, the removal of the government and the creation of a transitional technical government with a 12-month mandate. According to the protesters, the transitional government should pave the way for a new political process and the creation of conditions for free and fair elections.
