Shocking new details have emerged from the arrest in Athens of Albanian Nikolin Pali, wanted for six years for a double murder in Loutraki, Greece. Greek media report that the 43-year-old is suspected of having admitted to authorities his involvement in two other murders committed in Albania, while investigators are verifying whether he is linked to other serious criminal events.
During questioning, the Albanian stated that he had committed two murders in Albania before 2002. He allegedly explained to the authorities that he had used a false identity to evade justice, as he was also wanted by the Albanian authorities.
To verify these claims and his identity, the Greek police have contacted the Albanian authorities through Interpol, from whom information about the two alleged criminal events is expected.
Meanwhile, investigators are also looking into the possibility that Paul may have been involved in paid executions. According to Greek media reports, they are analyzing his activities during the six years he was on the run, as well as possible connections to other underworld figures.
How did you hide for six years in Greece?
Paul was arrested on November 5, 2026, in an apartment in the Kato Patisia area of Athens, during an operation by EKAM special forces and the Greek police.
According to authorities, he used forged documents and a residence permit with another person's details, but with his own photograph.
During a search of the apartment, police found a pistol, two functional grenades, two detonators, and three pairs of metal handcuffs.
According to reports by " Proto Thema " and other Greek media , investigators are also examining suspicions that he may have prepared another attack before his arrest. However, this remains an investigative lead and has not been confirmed as a fact.
In the same operation, a 41-year-old Albanian woman was also arrested, suspected of having helped him hide and provided him with shelter.
Double murder in Loutraki, what happened on the night of October 10, 2020?
The serious incident occurred on the night between October 10 and 11, 2020, in a holiday home in the Flambouro area, near Loutraki.
The victims were Paul's ex-partner, a 43-year-old woman of Ukrainian origin, and her new partner, a 42-year-old Greek pharmacist.
According to a reconstruction of the incident published by Greek media, Paul allegedly entered the apartment using a spare key. The woman and her partner had spent time together in the apartment's courtyard before the attack.
Both were hit several times with an axe and died from their injuries. After the crime, the perpetrator took money and jewelry from the victims, as well as their mobile phones.
He then left in his ex-partner's vehicle, which he took to an isolated area and set on fire in an attempt to cover his tracks.
Two life sentences for double murder
For this event, Nikolin Pali was sentenced in absentia on June 18, 2024 by the Mixed Court for Serious Crimes in Tripoli.
He was sentenced to two life sentences, an additional 23 years in prison, and a fine of 30,000 euros for two counts of intentional murder, robbery, and arson.
In addition to the conviction in Greece, Albanian authorities were seeking him for an attempted armed robbery, committed in collaboration with other persons.
Investigations have now expanded in both countries. Greek and Albanian authorities are expected to verify the claims for the other two murders, while possible links of the 43-year-old to other criminal events are also being examined.
At this stage, the allegations of murders in Albania and possible involvement in paid executions remain under verification by the authorities.
