Algorithm Concerns/Accounts That Promoted Flamingo Protest Disappear on Social Media

The closure of the accounts of some of the most active voices of the flamingo protest raises suspicions of a coordinated wave of reporting and a new form of censorship on social networks, precisely on the ground where the protest had broken the dominance of government propaganda and which Edi Rama has been identifying as a problem for months, blaming the "algorithm".

The clash between "businessmen"/ The two versions circulating about

In the rest of the world, businessmen are wondering how to introduce artificial intelligence into their companies, how to reduce costs and win new markets. Meanwhile, in our country, where there is an early flirtation between the businessman and the strong, they continue to resolve disputes with weapons and threats.

The scene on the Vlora coast this Thursday could very well belong to a second-hand action movie. Security cameras have recorded several vehicles arriving near businessman Vasil Bedinaj's Regina Palm resort. More than 10 armed people get out of them and a little later the Vlora Police are put on alert. Watch the video below:

The police did not go into details about the causes that led to the clash between Luan Muça and Vasil Bedinaj in Vlora this Thursday, as the motives for the incident are still to be clarified.

"Around 11:30, the owner of a resort in Vlora notified the Police that armed individuals were conflicting with him," the official announcement states.

What is known for sure is that near Pusit i Mezin, the police, who were notified by businessman Vasil Bedinaj from Vlora, noticed a vehicle moving at high speed and started chasing it. As a result of the speed, the car overturned on the road and two of the people traveling in it ended up in the hospital.

"The driver of this vehicle lost control and had an accident. There were 3 citizens in the vehicle, 2 of whom were injured as a result of the accident, while the other has no health problems," the Police announced.

Inside the car, police said they found a pistol, confirming the fact that the situation at the Regina Hotel, where the two businessmen had met earlier, was tense.

The first version that circulated immediately after the event was that of Vasil Bedinaj. According to reports referring to his testimony to the police, the businessman claimed that he was faced with a pure extortion scheme: a group of armed individuals had demanded 5 million euros from him, also giving him an ultimatum.

"5 million euros fine, otherwise disappear from Albania," Bedinaj is reported to have declared to the Police.

But a few hours later, another version emerged, which complicates the story. According to this second version, businessman Luan Muça, owner of Delta, was himself present at the hotel and met with Bedinaj to clarify an investment in Palasa.

So the conflict did not arise out of nowhere. In the middle is a dispute over property in Palasa, where Muça is developing a tourist project. According to this version, Bedinaj, together with other people, is alleged to have demanded a percentage of the property, while Muça has opposed it. This Thursday's meeting should serve precisely to clarify the conflict.

Luan Muça's Delta company has been awarded strategic investor status for the first phase of the "Delta Falaise Resort & Village" project. The tourist project is located in the area between Palasa and Dhërmi and is planned as a hotel and villa complex. Public records identify Luan Muça as Delta's administrator and the company as the beneficiary of strategic investor status for this project.

Meanwhile, the people who accompanied Muça to the meeting are employees of the private company "SwAT Security", contracted for the security of his businesses. In short, the meeting is thought to have been for clarification, but the situation must have escalated to the point of calling the police.

The full version of the Police for the incident is still missing. In the first announcement, the Vlora Blues have been extremely cautious. They do not confirm the fine of 5 million euros, but they do not mention the property conflict and have not publicly identified the protagonists and have not determined who threatened whom.

"A special investigative group has been established, which, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, is working to clarify the dynamics of the event and identify all citizens involved," is the official formula.

It is understood that the police have to be very careful in this case. Big business has a strong political influence, so one more word could open up problems for the police./Lapsi.al

Greece lowers food prices, Rama: We will not intervene, the "system" does not allow us

The Greek government has reduced the prices of more than 1,700 products through an agreement with industry, suppliers and supermarkets; on the other hand, the Albanian government says it cannot intervene in prices because the "system" forbids it and promises only "transparency", at a time when Albanians are paying more for food than the European Union average and with price increases much higher than their neighbors.

Is there a new Rama-Veliaj pact that foresees the mayor's release from prison? Why did the head of government approve the dismissal of Anuela Ristani this time and why might it be beneficial for him to have "Lali's" return to office?

After a year of analysts lamenting the extent to which Donald Trump has emboldened the world's autocrats, the political landscape may be starting to change. Not only is Trump deeply unpopular globally, but every government that gets into bed with him is offering evidence of its own corruption.

A pact has been drawn up between the prime minister and the imprisoned mayor to return the latter to office. But what would be the consequence for a justice reform, that the high-ranking officials have kicked down the doors of his cells?
