Salary impasse, judges hold an extraordinary meeting at the Supreme Court this

Judges are holding an extraordinary meeting at the Supreme Court of Justice this Thursday regarding the impasse over the August salaries of magistrates. For several days, the Criminal and Civil Chambers of Tirana have boycotted work due to the situation regarding the August salary. The same situation was also seen in the Fier and Lushnja Courts, where citizens waited for hours to receive services.

No trials will be held in these two courts, except for urgent hearings, which are security measures and protection orders. The Fier Court suspended work without providing any official information to the public and the parties involved in judicial proceedings. This has caused confusion among citizens who are waiting for the hearings to take place. An average of 80-90 trials are held in this court per day. The service for citizens will be functional for only 15 minutes per day. The Vlora Court of First Instance does not yet have a deadline for when court hearings will resume normally. The salary crisis is also blocking work in the Durrës Court today

Such a decision came after the situation created in recent days with the issue of salaries in the justice system. On Tuesday, the presidents of the courts of the Republic gathered at the Supreme Court, who decided not to boycott work and to continue working normally, until the issue is resolved by the Parliament.
