About 100 kilograms of cocaine were seized at Athens airport during a joint operation by Greek police and US DEA agents. The operation took place on Wednesday evening and resulted in the arrest of six people. According to preliminary data, at least four of them are suspected to be Albanian citizens.
The cocaine was hidden in a shipment of fresh roses, which had arrived in Greece from Colombia. Authorities are investigating the network involved in the trafficking, as it is suspected that the group may have other members. Investigations are ongoing to identify other people involved and to determine the final destination of the drugs.
