The protest, announced two days ago by residents of the Patos-Marinëz oilfield, has begun with tensions.
Protesters have forced open the gate of one of the sectors of the Bankers Petroleum company and entered its premises. Residents have demanded the removal of employees from the area, while the situation has become tense. The protest is taking place following the residents' demands for respect for contracts and payments for land leased to the company. One of the residents says, "It's my property, not yours. We made a contract together, but you're not implementing it, you're not giving me the money."
Faced with this situation, the residents unanimously expressed their desire to continue their protest by blocking the squares. As they had warned, they gathered today in front of Satellite Square Three, forcing open the door. They unanimously expressed that they will not allow the value of the land rent to be halved from 4 million per dunyam to two million. The protesters are now inside the premises of Satellite Square Three, in an attempt to block the work.
