Jamal Musiala's two fainting spells in the space of a few days have raised concerns among fans about his health. The German first fainted on the pitch on August 16 and then again two days later in a friendly, due to a neurological disorder that Bayern Munich had long been aware of. They had tried to keep his condition a secret, but the fainting spells have prompted Vincent Kompany and Max Eberl to speak openly about him, with the player's consent, to avoid speculation about his health.
Musiala explained to fans that he had been absent twice due to a neurological disorder, which first appeared a year ago. On the eve of the Super Cup against Borussia Dortmund, the Germans have decided to clarify the situation, also explaining what caused the two unexpected fainting spells on the pitch during the last summer friendlies.
Musiala, what lies behind the loss of feelings?
Bayern Munich is calm about the condition of its player, because it was already aware of his situation: "We knew it all last season. The players knew it too. For us it has become part of everyday life". Musiala has given permission to the technician Kompany and Eberl to talk about his health condition to clarify the situation and calm the media and fans after the two episodes that have hit him on the pitch. The fainting is caused by the new therapy he is following: "With his therapy, some things have changed and this has had side effects. It is normal to experience something different during therapy".
For precautionary reasons, the German has not been called up for Saturday's match, in order to adapt to the new therapy and have a few days available to recover. Musiala can play normally, as he did last season, and Bayern Munich are calm about his health. Kompany explained that the doctors need to find the right therapy for his problem: "He has changed the therapy a little. That's why it happened the first and second time. It's absolutely normal."
