The Chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, is expected to travel this Friday to the United States for a visit of several days. His stay in the US is expected to last about a week. On the agenda is participation in the Republican National Convention, which will be held in Dallas on September 9 and 10.
Berisha is expected to hold two more meetings with the Albanian community. The first meeting is scheduled for September 6 in New York, while the second is scheduled for September 8 in Texas. During the visit, meetings with American congressmen and senators are also expected, but so far there has been no official announcement about them. The delegation that will accompany Berisha includes Belind Këlliçi, Albana Vokshi, Klevis Balliu, Fatmir Mediu and Henri Ceno.
This will be Berisha's first visit to the United States in about 14 years. The last time he traveled there was in 2012, when he held the post of prime minister.
